III. There are many possible solutions to this problem. The possible solutions are: (Two articles must be attached and annotated bibliography)
We increase the percent of income tax for the wealthy ( $373,650 and above) from 35% to 40%. Increasing the tax bracket by 5% will provide the government with a significant amount of public spendings. Another solution is to reduce the spending on items and programs that do not need the money, and use it in areas that do.
IV. The solution I (we) propose is: (This section will become your proposed legislation. Be sure to include what agency will implement your law, proposed cost if any and effective date)
I propose that the highest income tax bracket ,which is 35% at the moment, should be raised to 40% to provide more revenue for public spending. We can also cut the budgets of failing programs, and use those budgets on other public programs.
V. I (we) think this solution will work because: (You must use factual information to prove your solution will work)
35% of $500,000 is $175,000. if we raise the percentage to 40% we can accumulate $200,000. With a 5% increase on the income tax we can gain an extra $25,000 or more depending on the income of the individual. The evidence from police cases that go cold stays in the evidence room. The evidence can reach billions of dollars in drugs, and cash. The evidence just sits in the rooms because there is no need for it. If we take the money form the cases that went cold we can have a large amount of money to use towards public spendings. Taking the money from failing programs will provent the money from going to waste, and using that money on new public programs will provide help for the public.
